HR Sports Academy is a Community Interest Company dedicated to building a brighter future for children and young people by enhancing the quality of their sporting, educational and work experiences through the provision and promotion of a range of sport-related activities. We want to ensure young people live healthy and active lives and be the best they can be by providing them with the best resources possible.

 

HR Sports Academy was created in July 2008 with the aim of reducing conflict within the London borough of Haringey by providing sporting opportunities that bring different groups of young people together. The success of our first event 'Camp Baller' revealed that many youths wanted similar coaching experiences within their school and more often throughout the year. As a result our role within the community has expanded to meet these needs and aspirations.



Our mission is to provide opportunities for young people to use as a catalyst for positive youth development and success. We aim to help individuals feel satisfied with their life, recognise what they excel in, use their strengths to fulfil pursuits, and become contributing members of society. We deliver wide variety of projects which use sport in some way to attract and hook children and young people to our provisions and enable them to gain benefits from our services.



Our vision is to become the leading and most trusted sport providers by demonstrating dedication and commitment to the quality of our services and ensuring the enjoyment, success, achievement and development of all our participants.



Our Coaching Team

HR Sports Academy CIC is made up of a team who are committed to collectively achieving the company's vision. Our sports leaders and coaches are passionate, energetic and ambitious role models for children and young people. They lead by example in terms of their approach, attitude and actions and encourage appropriate and acceptable behaviour by children. Our coaches aim to meet the needs of children by providing well planned and executed sessions which engaging them in sports opportunities and encouraging them to participate regularly in sport.

We hand pick and individually train all of our coaches to deliver the services in a safe and professional manner. All staff receive ongoing training in various sports, First Aid and Child Protection and have been cleared by the Criminal Records Bureau to ensure that they have no convictions that should prevent them from working with children.

The managing director graduated from Brunel University in 2008 with 1st class honours in Sport Science: Administration and Development and has a Masters in Sport Management. In addition to being highly qualified, she has over 11 years experience working within PE and sporting environments and numerous certificates in the coaching field. She has worked closely with many infant, primary and secondary schools delivering PE sessions, before and after school clubs and holiday programmes since 2002, and in 2007 she was awarded 'Young Volunteer of the Year' at the Haringey Celebrating Sport Awards.
